That day my patience crumpled down
In the heat of fury I told him all
"I was always the bonsai in your garden
I was always the showpiece in your hall
Where u chopped me down at will
you pruned me and stunted my growth
you cut my branches against my wishes
you cut my roots and stopped them short
you determined where my branches went
you determined when i could get my flower
you chose the fruit I had to bear
you chose the size, the taste and colour"
He smiled and looked at me with tears
"It was not easy all these years
To make you so pretty and smart
I had my guilt, I had my fears
I wanted to keep you from the harm
I think I cared for you too much
I wanted you to have it all
Without making you work too much
I saw ur kin within the jungle
growing wild, bearing no fruit
I saw them stealing from each other
I saw them running from pursuit
Then I saw you when you were a twig
Innocent & tender,And i thought it all
I promised I will look after you
I swore that you will never fall
I cut off the branches which were your burden
And chopped off roots which would damage you
I kept you contained from the wilderness
And I made you look beautiful too
I made sure you got the best fruit
And the brightest flower of any season
I pruned you to save you from the effort of shedding
In the process I made you the bonsai of my garden
I tried to bring out the best out of you,
And the best of the best can never be free
I sometimes dont know if it was right or wrong
I made you better than what you could ever be
I hope the day will come in your life
when you'll know what people see
Not the bonsai fettered by the chains
But the longest living wisest tree"

bohot hi umda! excellent depiciton of the classic tussle...
Good one. It represents the tussle of love. Trying to prove each one has done more for the other.
I think this is what we think as love though we are hurt we suffer for it.
