Just a mirror

I looked in those eyes, I saw your face,
I saw the lips, which said your name,
The dreams in her mind were dreams of you,
Her thoughts were distant, thoughts of you.

She said you loved her more than self,
She said you had her in your heart,
Your love for each other only grew,
Not even death could draw you apart,

I saw your wisdom in her words,
I saw your pleasure in her smile,
I could not even feel a doubt,
In her love I saw no guile.

I felt like a stranger on an unknown land,
Of you she sung and of you she spoke,
I hated her who owned you thus,
I flung her a stone and the mirror broke!!
